Stone Island Junior Autumn Winter 2011 - Preview

Taking flight in the infinite space of the skies, leaping between the clouds. Looking down on huge cities that for once become tiny little things. Flying boys dart and whirl through the skies, leaving colourful trails behind them as if they were an acrobatics display team - the Stone Island Junior collection is designed for boys who enjoy adventures.

Functionality is the prime component, with technical details inspired by military clothing and work wear. Garments from the Stone Island archives have been given a fresh twist to create new iconic garments with an urban feel.

Key Pieces

The Liquid Reflective Jacket: Padded and made from a highly reflective liquid coating that is hand sprayed on the individual garment then baked dry.

The Ice Jacket: A waistcoat with detachable cotton sleeves, that has a heat sensitive coating. In the cold the garment transforms from yellow to green.

Light down jackets that are as colourful as the fabrics of hot air balloons: twelve deep, intense colours achieved by garment dyeing.

Feather padded aviator bomber jackets in nylon Oxford.

A military parka in rubberised satin weave cotton and pea coat in woollen fabric, with detachable feather padded lining.

Jumpers High quality yarns in various weights, including cotton, cashmere, wool and chenille.
The President's Jumper is an outerwear garment inspired by the MA1 pilots' bomber jackets. The detachable padding is made of feathers.

Shirts Overshirts made of check fabric laminated with flannel; quilted or in baby cord.

Jeans are high quality denim, as used for the adult garments, with a worn look created by needle cord.

Down jackets: light green, green, yellow, ochre, orange, red, grey, smoke, lavender, royal blue, cornflower blue and navy.
Industrial: White, grey and black.
Uniforms: Army green and navy blue.
